Del-Sano Announces Completion of Horizon Heights Low-Income Family Residence
New, Eco-Friendly 52-Unit Apartment Building in Union City, N.J. Offers Advanced Technology and Green Building Elements
Union, N.J. – December 12, 2011 – Del-Sano Contracting Corporation, a general contracting, design/build and construction management services firm, today announced the completion of the 52-unit Horizon Heights low-income family residence. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held today for the new 6-story, mid-rise apartment building, located at 116-118 49th Street in Union City, N.J., offering the latest in modern technology and green building elements.
Located in a vibrant shopping and dining district close to Kennedy Boulevard and all public transportation, this $18.7 million affordable apartment building is a project of Regan Development Corp. The 100,372 square foot building includes 13 one, two or three bedroom spacious units on each floor. Central heating and cooling are provided for each tenant as well as free onsite covered parking within the building. The rent for these stylish family apartments ranges from $778-$1061 per month.

The Horizon Heights project was managed by Walter Rice (project manager) and Anthony Travisano (superintendent) from Del-Sano, along with a team of cooperative and professional trade contractors. The cohesive building team handled the site restrictions and the day-to-day constructability complications impeccably through to completion. Jose Carballo and Mark Cassini from Jose Carballo Architecture of Hackensack, N.J. were the project architects. John Harrison, PE, from Harrison Hamnet, P.C. of Pennington, N.J. was the structural engineer and Vincent Barone, PE , and his team at Barone Engineering based in Butler, N.J. designed the mechanical and electrical systems.
