Del-Sano Contracting Completes Project for Crane's Mill Retirement Community in West Caldwell, N.J.
Union, N.J. - December 12, 2011 - Del-Sano Contracting Corporation, a general contracting, design/build and construction management services firm, today announced the completion of a dining room renovation project for Crane's Mill, a continuing care retirement community located at 459 Passaic Avenue, West Caldwell, N.J. The new dining facility is 20,000 square feet and serves the more than 650 residents of Crane's Mill.
As a program of the Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, a faith-based, statewide, non-profit provider of compassionate, quality senior care services, as well as other community programs, the dining facility was renovated to provide a more community-oriented environment. The new softly decorated dining area at Crane's Mill includes a service café, pub/lounge, bistro, center stage area with built-in pizza oven, and convenience store in addition to the main dining area, which offers both space for privacy and more sophisticated interaction.
"The residents, leaders and staff of Crane's Mill have a great deal of pride in their community. This new dining facility provides the residents with a more spacious area for anything from fireside chats to casual or formal dining. It also offers a venue where chef's get to display and interactively prepare foods to the liking of each resident," explained Angelo Del Russo, CEO of Del-Sano. "To prevent any inconvenience for the residents during the construction, we built this project in phases, installing temporary walls between the sections that were being used and those that were under construction."
RLPS (Reese, Lower, Patrick & Scott) Architects of Lancaster, Pa. and Merlino Design Partnership of Gulph Mills, Pa. were the architects on this project. The engineering firm was Reese Engineering, Inc. of State College, Pa.
